SI&A’s all-stars join ACSA in budget workshops

With announcement from Gov. Jerry Brown earlier this month on triggering mid-year cuts - attention now turns to his January budget, which he released this week.

SI&A's growing team of fiscal experts will now offer a comprehensive analysis ready to assist districts with the difficult planning needed for 2012-13.

Along with its partner, the Association of California School Administrators, SI&A is once again ready to launch its annual series of 10 workshops on the January budget plan - this year kicking off on Jan. 17 in Sacramento with nine additional presentations in other regions of the state through the end of the month.

Headlining the events are SI&A's Jack O'Connell, former state schools chief; and Kevin Gordon, one of California's leading legislative advocates for K-12 schools.

Also presenting will be ACSA's Adonai Mack, one of the association's top legislative advocates as well as SI&A's Barrett Snider, director of governmental and public affairs; and the firm's newest executive, Gerry Shelton, until last month, the chief consultant to the state Assembly's Committee on Education.

As in past years, SI&A will be making these exceptional workshops available to school leaders completely free.

Conference locations and registration will be available at SI&A's homepage: http://www.sia-us.com/
